WESTERN CENTRAL LABORATORY is a modern laboratory that conducts destructive testing and non-destructive testing using various methods, ultrasonic thickness measurement, quality control and inspection, control of welding processes and other tests, measurements and analyses. The company also has a chemical laboratory and a metrology laboratory and provides other services that are relevant to the majority of industries.
WESTERN CENTRAL LABORATORY – daughter-company of WESTERN SHIPYARD GROUP, established as an enterprise in 2003, after reorganization of former ship-repair yard. This means our experience is reaching distant 1969, learning lessons and gathering best experience throughout the time.
WESTERN CENTRAL LABORATORY is a company accredited and recognized by the classification societies that carry out its operations in accordance with the established requirements and standards:
- Destructive testing (DT)
Recognized by the Bureau Veritas and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping Classification Societies.
- Non-destructive testing (NDT)
Accredited by the Nacionalinis akreditacijos biuras accreditation bureau and recognized by the Bureau Veritas, DNV-GL and Russian Maritime Register of Shipping Classification Societies.
NDT is conducted in compliance with the operational standards and requirements according to LST EN ISO, ASTM, AWS, DN-VGL.
- Ultrasonic thickness measurement (UTM)
Recognized by the Bureau Veritas, DNV-GL, Lloyd‘s Register, Registro Italiano Navale and Russian Maritime Register of Shipping Classification Societies.
The activities of Western Central Laboratory are wide-ranging, and our specialists can conduct tests and provide services not only in the laboratories of the company but also at customer sites, such as ships, factories, oil company premises, and construction units. The company specialists can also carry out work at high altitudes, as they hold the necessary permits: they are certified in compliance with the IRATA requirements. The testing work in high-rise facilities is carried out using professional rope access worker’s equipment and in compliance with the necessary safety requirements and usually, without the need for scaffolding and cranes, which helps to reduce the costs.
