Determination of the chemical composition of metals and metal alloys is a spectral analysis designed to determine the composition and content of chemical elements of a material. Using this method, the chemical properties of metals and metal alloys, their suitability for use in one or another medium, their corrosion resistance, suitability for welding, and compliance with the technical documentation requirements are determined.
WESTERN CENTRAL LABORATORY can determine the chemical composition of the following metals and metal alloys:
- Alloyed steels.
- Aluminum and its alloys.
- Nickel and its alloys.
- Copper and its alloys.
- Zinc and its alloys.
The PMI-MASTER PRO mobile optical emission spectrometer is used for the analysis, which accurately determines the percentage of the following chemical elements within a sample: Fe, C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr, Mo, Ni, Al, Co, Cu, Nb, Ti, V, W, Pb, Sn, B, and Zr. Using this mobile device, spectral analysis can be performed not only in the laboratory but also on customer sites.
